This is my personal go-to fly. When I'm in a new place or the trout seem unwilling to take another fly, this is the one I tie on. One of the things it imitates is the orange sedge caddis-a really big caddis. They aren't common but I've seen them in Colorado up to Montana. When they hatch they create quite a ruckus on the surface so trout really gravitate to them. I think the painted large eyelet makes this one looking even more buggy.
